Day at the Zoo 18th August 2008

Me & Andrew took my two little cousins to Dalton Zoo, unfortunately the English weather didn't bless us with much sunshine, but we all had a good day followed by happy meals

Note that some of the pictures were taken by Caragh - aged 4. She was so cute! Takes after me - she wants to be the next David Bailey. Haha.

Kids say the funniest things:

I was in the shop, queuing up for the delightful orange umbrella, when Brogan ran in an said "Carly, Carly, did you see that man, the Black man outside; he was pulling a funny face." I intantly pictured a man with something wrong with him or something stood outside the shop, and completly ignored her comment pretending she didn't say anything and proceeded to purchase my umbrella, extremely red faced. When I stepped out of the shop I immediately figured out what the hell she was going on about as Andrew was stood outside with the kids pulling funny faces with a wood carving - I had to laugh, check out the picture!

And by August, Michelle was back to her good old self! ...

Michelle's gone back to Blonde, and what do they say about Blondes having more fun? Well a trip to the hairdressers was shortly followed by a girls night out, and although I didn't take my camera out, I was equipt with my mobile. HaHa

We had a nice meal and girly chats, followed by drinks and a wee dance!

She's singing here by the way, not moaning in pain! Hahahaha x

News from Down Under!

Well as you all know the lovely Steph(anie) and the lovely Miss Oliver (or should I say Sergant!)
Have been gone for a long time now (too long I say, come home I miss you ....)

• The Girls celebrated Bee's Birthday at the Great Barrier Reef and Finally


• Bex arrives in a few days, infact she might be arriving right now.

Message from Oz:

Well i've had a really fantastic 2 days. It was our friend B's birthday this weekend so we decided to celebrate by coppering up and booking a day out on the Great Barrier Reef. The day started with us encountering 2 humpback whales swimming and playing right next to our boat, it was unreal, i managed to get a few pics, but was 2 in ore to take photos! As katie,B and myself r all certified divers (i love saying it!!!), we decided to take a scuba dive with the little fishes, to be honest i was surpried at the lack of colour in the coral, you imagine the reef to be this huge bust of colour like on all the pics and it wasn't. Don't get me wrong we did see some beautiful fish and coral but not in the way i imagined, it was still brilliant tho and i feel so so lucky to have had the opportunity to experience what i have. We hired a underwater camera to capture the moment. As i was the strongest swimmer i had the pleasure of taking the pics. I was a little dodgy when we dived at first as it was my first time with the camera, however when i snorkelled later in the day i was on the ball, i felt like a mermaid in and out of the coral, the water was lovely and warm and the sun was splitting the skies it was just perfect. Yesterday we spent the day down at the lagoon and threw b a birthdaybbq...we bought a huge chocolate cake and sat there surrounded by size 6 skinny minis with their tanned bodies and little tiny bikkinis with 3 folks and ate the whole cake, all the while smiling at the skinny birds as if 2 say 'sorry luv but u where the one who choose a good figure over chocolate'...more fool you ladies!!!!!

Cath's back from Menorca

Cath had a chilled out time in Menora, lovely beach and an irish bar - which resort doesn't!

Freckles are out and 4 weeks left of the summer holidays. Andy's brother is down this weekend, so the hostess with the mostess has painted the kitchen in "puddle colour" - think it's brown!

Carly goes to Cambridge

Went to Cambridge university to attend a course on Radiological Protection. Lots of people from around the world. Great fun, stayed in Christs College and went Punting!

Worked out how to download pictures from my mobile!

Wow! Now I'll never miss a thing! I know I am a little behind the time with all this mobile phone technology, but just worked out how to download pictures off my mobile phone, so here's a few girly days out I forgot to mention:

Michelle drove me to Hawkshead the day before her driving test (didn't realise at the time) It worked a treat though. I was still off work poorly at the time and Michelle cheered me up with posh cake!



A trip out walking Marley up the Hoad!

Me, Cath, Michelle and Marley all ventured up the hoad for a walk some time in May - hence Marley's jacket! It was still a bit windy. Oh I remember when it was now, haha just had a flashback. It was the day after the sleep over at Cath's and I thought the walk would get rid of everybody's hangover - It didn't work.

Cath has been to Scotland and doing well at work - off to Italy this summer and Menorca, so hopefully she will bring us some photographs.

Kt McGuire has re-joined Higherground, we now have a new female drummer and changing the band name - Next gig 13th September at the Peil in Ulverston (King Alf closing down so that got canceled)

Maya McKenna has had a baby boy

Michelle & Christine moved house and Shell has got a new big bedroom

My Mum is now Healthy following her operation

Miss Stephanie Davey is now 24 - Happy Belated Birthday!!

Marley had his birthday the day after Stephs and is now 4!

Catherine has been on a diet and lost a stone - she is now a skinny minx

BBQ at the Knotts 11th July

We had a BBQ tonight at the knotts - the folks are on holiday.
Michelle put on a great spread complete with table decorations and bunting. Weather wasn't so great but the rain stayed away long enough for a few drinking games in true Michelle style. Andrew did a good job with the BBQ food and made some mean Chicken - well done!

I wish I had taken photos but Danny's got my camera still from Cyprus.

Michelle gets a Job at BAE!

JULY 2008

Michelle has got a fab job at BAE in Barrow-in-Furness in HR.
She has really worked hard to get the position she deserves and now all those power suits will be put to good use. WELL DONE!!!

Sex in the City - Manchester - May 2008

Well what can I say about this night! IT WAS BRILL!!!!
After the long anticipation of Sex and the City the Movie, it was well worth the wait. Totally loved the film and the company. Miss Stephanie Davey was well missed but thinking of us in Australia. I brought a bottle of champagne to drink as we were all getting glammed up. I promptly noticed the sign on the dresser " £150 fine for drinking in th room" I carefully tried to open the champagne, but the hot car journey multiplied the bubbles. The cork blew off and the champagne dripped from the cieling and ran down each wall in the hotel! Whoops.
Good job I brought a back-up as we only managed to get a glass each from what was left. We all got drunk and danced the night away after the movie. More photos to follow ......
